World renowned reggae artist, Lucky Dube, murdered
This is a terrible tragedy. Lucky Dube was apparently shot and killed in an attempted car jacking in Johannesburg. Lucky Dube wrote and sang some of the most beautiful old-school, “roots rock reggae” music albums. He also was an influential social activist for black South Africans, bringing attention since the 1980’s to political and social injustices in South Africa and the African continent.
