I’m all for national security, and make no doubt about it, I support our troops, enough so that I would like to see them come home, or at least be fighting the right enemy. What happened to those weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and when will we focus our attention on capturing Osama Bin Laden?
Before you decide to vote for John McCain, watch this video. And considering McCain’s choice for Vice President, I’m even more frightened of the thoughts of war and instability that could result if anything ever happened to John McCain while he was in office.
Vote for REAL change. Vote for hope in our future. Vote for military strength AND diplomacy. Vote out the Republican party that got us into this mess, and VOTE for OBAMA on November 4th!
This news release from the UW-Madison caught my attention. Described as a “one-of-a-kind revolutionary Chinese American baritone saxophonist, composer, writer, producer, political activist and leader of the Afro Asian Music Ensemble and the Monkey Orchestra,” Fred Ho certainly sounds interesting.
I bopped over to his personal web site to learn more and maybe check out some of his music. Very cool! He plays what looks to be a beautiful 1960’s Selmer Mark VI baritone, a la Madison’s own Anders Svanoe of Tony Castanada’s Latin Jazz Ensemble. You can see Fred Ho’s sax…and a little more…with this photo from Fred Ho’s PR site, bigredmediainc.com.
Hmm…given his choice of attire, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s asked to sport a role in an upcoming Madison theatrical production, which were recently noted for their nudity on stage.
All said, it sounds like Madison culture is very fortunate to have such a socially conscious, creative and avant-garde artist-in-residence among us for a while.
